Administrative Professionals Day
Wednesday, April 22, 2009 is a day to recognize and show appreciation to the Admin Professional’s in your office and life. Being a former Administrative Professional I certainly knew this date and although I never expected to receive anything it was nice when I did. Often times we use our Administrative Professionals, also known as assistance, to help us remember things and sometimes even purchase gifts for our loved ones on our behalf. BUT this day we can’t do that unless you have a seriously awesome relationship with your Admin Prof and she/he doesn’t mind sending theirselves something.
If you have an Admin Prof in your life even if they don’t work for you, perhaps they are your spouse, friend or other relative send them a nice gift and don’t get some cheesy pen with their name on it or something for their desk like sticky notes. Actually I’d love to get bright colored sticky notes but I’m not your average chic….I love office supplies and would like them at any time but most women are not like that…LOL! Personalized gifts add such a nice touch and they scream, “wow you actually thought about me!!”. Anyone can run to the store and get a card or stuffed animal but to actually write your own message and add the recipients name to the design of the gift and you will put a smile on their face for days. That alone will say how much y0u appreciate them.
My husband has an assistant that works part-time in his office and there are 2 other guys in the local office that work with her directly and they failed to get anything for Christmas, Valentine’s Day and seems like one more holiday and she got them all something small. I didn’t think about it myself because I forget the fact that he has an assistant since she is part-time and hasn’t worked there all that long. So I made it a point to remember the holidays and keep these boys straight when it comes to the holiday!! I sent my husband with a chocolate bouquet with 6 chocolate standard bars and the vase is filled with her favorite dark chocolate mini bars!! I embellished it with some curly ribbon. I personalized the message with her name and had my husband think of a small line to use such as we appreciate all you do. The mini bars were wrapped with affirmations such as good job, awesome, thank you, #1, Great. My husband had to give it to her today because he won’t be in the office tomorrow and he said she appeared to be very surprised. I imagine so since this is the first gift she has gotten since working there!!
